Yebun searches for the remains or any traces of her young granddaughter, who drowned in the river a year ago. Still feeling guilty about her granddaughter′s death, Yebun spends her days in pain. Meanwhile, Okim, Yubun’s old friend in the village, passes away from an illness. Yebun briefly takes care of Jiyeoon, Okim’s granddaughter and her own deceased granddaughter’s friend. Yebun and Jiyoon, a corpse shrouder and a middle school swimmer, or a grandmother who lost her granddaughter and a granddaughter who lost her grandmother, suddenly come to live together just like that. The Ripple intensively develops the later stories of characters living in the time after losing their beloved ones, and at the same time, it carefully seeks protection and nurture that show a glimpse of healing signs.
